Our wonderful GDB Academic Advisor, Grace, is on leave April 22, 2025–September 21, 2025! She will be out-of-office and not advising during this time. For any questions or advising concerns, please reach out to gdb-advise@ucdavis.edu. One of the GDB peer advisors or our staff Integrated Academic Advisor Andra will be happy to help!

Virtual Drop-in Advising

Not offered during Finals Week or Summer. Will resume at the start of Fall 2025 instruction.

Advising AppointmentsAdvising appointments are 30-minute meetings for more in-depth advising. If you have several questions and/or wish to spend more time working with an advisor, please schedule an appointment with the appropriate type of advisor.

  • Practicum planning and tips
  • RE questions
  • Questions about peer experience
  • GDB minor advising

Peer advising appointments are offered remotely (on Zoom). You will receive a link for the Zoom meeting in an automated appointment confirmation email from OASIS.

Staff Academic Advisor

  • Yearly check-ins
  • Specific practicum issues or delays
  • Graduation delays
  • Academic standing
  • Planning study abroad
  • Readmission and withdrawal
  • PELP/Cancellation
  • Career planning
  • Any other special situations

Appointments may be remote (on Zoom), over the phone, or in-person in Hutchinson 152 (LIMITED).

How to Schedule An Appointment

Please note that we only schedule advising appointments at least 24 hours in advance.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please email gdb-advise@ucdavis.edu at least two hours before your scheduled appointment.

Peer Advising

  1. See peer advising hours below.
  2. Request an appointment by sending an email to gdb-advise@ucdavis.edu with your name, SID, advising question, and several days and times of availability based on current advising hours.

Staff Academic Advisor

  1. Visit appointments.ucdavis.edu.
  2. Click "Get Scheduled."
  3. Select "Plant Pathology, Nematology and Entomology Advising Center."
  4. Choose your major (i.e., "Global Disease Biology")
  5. Enter your contact information.
  6. Select a day, time, and type of appointment (remote, phone, or in-person).

If you do not see any availability on the appointments system, please email gdb-advise@ucdavis.edu with your name, SID, advising question, and several options for your availability.
