Checklist to Success:
Welcome to all our new Global Disease Biology Students, we are so excited to have you here. Before you take your first steps towards being a student under our major, here are some checklist items to ensure you’re on track.
STEP 1: Complete Aggie 101 Modules
STEP 2: Attend our College and Major Webinar Sessions
STEP 3: Register & attend a GDB Department Workshop
If you were not able to attend these workshop sessions, you should have received an email with next steps. If you did not receive an email, please email email@example.com!
STEP 4: Schedule an Aggie Advising Appointment with a Major Advisor
You’re now ready to schedule an appointment with our GDB major advisor to discuss your specific Fall 2021 schedule, address any questions or concerns you may have, and explore other resources to prepare you well for your first quarter at Davis!
Please visit appointments.ucdavis.edu to schedule an Aggie Advising appointment with our department.
- Select "Plant Pathology, Entomology & Nematology Advising Center"
PREP FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT:
Fill out the Aggie Advising Prep Questionnaire
- Go to OASIS.ucdavis.edu, click on the "Forms and Petitions" tab, click the "Create new form" button, and select "Aggie Advising Prep Questionnaire"
Visit the UC Davis Catalog
- Check for prerequisites to any courses you want to register for
- Transfers: Explore potential Restricted Elective (RE) options
Review our Admitted Students tab for information on major requirements, policies, and resources
Bring your questions to your Aggie Advising appointment!
STEP 5: Schedule your Placement Exams
Chemistry Placement Exam:
You should already have taken the Chemistry Placement Exam. But if you did not, you will have a chance to take the Exam in September (9/22-9/28).
Math Placement Exam:
Testing windows for Fall will be in September. You will receive an email about testing once you register for classes in August! Visit the Math Placement Requirement website to see more details.

STEP 6: Register for Classes!
GDB registration dates:
- Freshmen: August 2-4
- Transfers: August 16-18
Please check your specific Pass 1 date and time on Schedule Builder.
