Hello! My name is Kelly Tobin and I am a third year Global Disease Biology major!
I was drawn to Global Disease Biology because it allows me to apply scientific skills to understand and prevent disease. Since being here at UC Davis, the One Health approach that GDB takes has taught me the importance of understanding not just human health, but animal and plant health as well.
I am so grateful for all of the opportunities GDB has given me. Since starting this major I have been able to join the Leveau Lab and engage in plant pathology research and go on a study abroad experience! I love how the GDB major allows you to tailor your restricted electives into what you are interested in. I am very excited to be a peer advisor and work more with the wonderful GDB community. I can’t wait to meet you all!
