Bio

Hi everyone,

I’m Rama, a fourth-year Global Disease Biology (GDB) student, and I’m currently working in a research lab that focuses on infectious diseases.

I’ve always been passionate about healthcare, but for a long time my focus was mostly on the human side of things. Joining the GDB major introduced me to the concept of One Health, which opened my eyes to how the environment and animals play a huge role in disease too. It’s really changed the way I think about health and how everything is connected.

One of my favorite things about GDB is how flexible it is. You can pick classes from different areas and really shape the major around what interests you. It makes learning feel personal and exciting.

This year I’m especially excited to be a GDB Peer Advisor. I love getting to meet other students in the major, share resources, and help people figure out their own path through the program. Whether it’s answering quick questions, talking through class options, or just being a friendly face, I’m here to help and can’t wait to connect with you all!
