New GDB Advisor Alert

Meet Grace: your new GDB Advisor!

GDB has a new Advisor! Meet Grace below:

Hi Everyone! My name is Grace Landon Gomez (she/her/hers) and I am the new Global Disease Biology Major Advisor! A little about me: I grew up in Davis, have two corgis, love munching on every type of potato snack, and completed both my undergraduate and graduate academic careers at UC Davis.

In graduate school, I studied Islamic Art History, Persian Poetry and Human Rights. I have always really loved teaching, designing student support programming, working with students and being in the world of Academia. Before I was your advisor, I was a lecturer UC Davis, a 3rd grade teacher, Art Program Director, an Advisor at the Internship & Career Center on campus and more recently served as the Course Administrator and Advising Assistant for Global Disease Biology, Entomology and Animal Biology.

I love working with students, and supporting students as they identify their interests and pursue their passions. College is a really exciting time, but can also seem a bit daunting and overwhelming – that’s where I come in! I am in your corner – I am here to help support you throughout your academic career at UC Davis, answer questions, and refer you to resources in different arenas as needed. I’m happy to chat about academics, research, practicum work, extracurricular opportunities, resumes, cover letters, networking, and more.

Never hesitate to reach out or ask questions, I’m always happy to help in the ways that I can. I look forward to getting to know all of you!
