Hi everyone! My name is Samantha (Sam) Green, and I am a fourth-year GDB student! One of my favorite things is spending time in my plant pathology research lab. I have been a part of this lab since winter quarter 24' and this last summer, I got the opportunity to work full-time on my practicum project. Working in the lab has expanded my interest in lab work extensively while adding to my skillset on the way to becoming a scientist. This cycle, I will be applying to master's programs in microbiology with the hope of working in the industry. Choosing the GDB major has been one of my best choices because of its supportive community, outstanding professors, and opportunities that have assisted me and my passion for research. The collaborative atmosphere and encouragement from faculty and peers have genuinely inspired me to continue my pursuit of a career in scientific research, and I am excited about the next steps in my academic journey!
